Dear speakers,
Here is some practical information. As usual, do not hesitate to contact the team at [email protected].
Your (short) todo list
– Check that your abstract is published on the program web site (mobile version).
– As shared by email on Mars 12th you can use the Devoxx template from our Github template project (if you want)
– If required, bring an HDMI adapter for your computer. The video signal is acquired on HDMI with the sound.
– Follow us on BlueSky ( @devoxxfr.bsky.social ) or on X ( @devoxxfr ) and don’t forget to skeet or tweet about Devoxx France with #DevoxxFR hashtag.
Be ready….
Speaker’s dinner
If you have a speaker badge, on March 21st you received an email to validate your venue at the traditional DEVOXX France Speakers’ Dinner. This event will be held on the first floor of the Palais des Congrès in Paris, on Wednesday, April 18th :
- 7:30 pm: Meeting point at the main entrance of DEVOXX located on the ground floor of the Palais des Congrès
- 7:40 to 10:30 pm: cocktail.
Check that your abstract and your bio are correct on the CFP Program website
Please visit the schedule website and check that your bio, company name, and, of course, presentation abstract are correct.
Presentations’s templates
We have a Github repository here. We provide templates for Powerpoint, Keynote and SliDesk. If you find a glitch in the template, please send us a pull-request. You don’t have to use our templates, but if you do, it’s cool. See our Youtube channel with the talks from the previous edition. Yes, it’s cool.
Badge pickup
Upon your arrival at Palais des Congres, Porte Maillot, pick up your badge at the Speaker’s welcome desk. You should receive the Ticket by email few days before the event. This email contains your Ticket, please show the QRCode upon your arrival so that we can print and prepare your speakers’s badge.
Organizing a BOF on Thursday evening? We’ll contact you soon to get a badge for you and your community members.
Don’t get lost
Be familiar with where your session is located (floor plan here). We also recommend that you double-check the exact room directly on the Devoxx France website 48 hours before your talk. Depending on the expected audience, we might switch your talk from one room to another.
Please arrive at your session room 15 minutes before the session starts to ensure the equipment is ready and working properly. Do not forget to bring your HDMI video adaptor. We have connectors for HDMI only—no DVI, mini-port display, USB-C, or other. A Red Coat, one of the volunteers, will help you during the set-up and for the Q&A session (if you need one).
Sessions
Speakers are, of course, responsible for providing their own laptops for presentations. Links for templates are provided above. Please respect the 16/9 ratio for video display and optimal results.
We record every talk except Hands-on Lab, Meet with and BOF. We will publish your video on Devoxx France YouTube channel shortly after the conference.
Please, don’t forget: you’re on YouTube! At the end of your talk, if you want to do a Q&A session: do repeat questions from the audience so that we can record it.
Duration
The total duration of your talk includes Q&A.
- Deep Dive: 3 hours, feel free to organize short 10mn breaks (1 or 2) during the session.
- Hands-on Lab: 2 hours in the morning and 3h in the afternoon. Feel free to organize short 10mn breaks (1 or 2) during the session.
- Meet with an OSS project: 1h30
- Conference: 45mn
- Tools-in-Action: 30mn
- Keynote: 20min
- Lunch talk: 15mn
At the end of your talk, the audience will come and ask you questions. Please, be a super speaker and leave the room for the next session so that nobody dies under stress before the end of the conference.
Speaker room and amenities
As a speaker, you have access to a speaker room, which is a quiet place to prepare your session. It’s located in the Neuilly Mezzanine on the second floor. Just ask a red coat to guide you (and open the door if needed).
Issues in your room, technical issues, emergencies
Should you have any questions or technical difficulties, please contact the « polo rouge » or red-coat in your room. They can help you and reach for technical assistance if needed.
